Peter Wileman – Into the Light – Solo Exhibition, Bristol Sept 5 – 30 Originally known as one of the UK’s foremost painters of representational marine work, Peter Wileman has taken something of a change of direction in recent years. In a search for more freedom of expression, he has developed a very distinctive, semi-abstract style, with huge success. Peter’s work is bold and vigorous, both in the use of colour and handling of paint, as he explores the effect of light on his subject. Seeking atmosphere through light and colour, he works in varying degrees of abstraction. Widely collected, has added a new vigour to his exemplary technique.
