Royal Institute of Oil Painters Charity Silent Auction
All proceeds for the Artists’ General Benevolent Institution (AGBI).
Bidding now closed.
A fundraising silent auction
The AGBI – a charity dedicated to support visual artists and their dependents in need who cannot work or earn due to injury or illness – can only carry its essential work thanks to donations and relies on voluntary contributions. This is why The Royal Institute of Oil Painters is organising this year a silent auction of eight paintings from its members with all proceeds going to the charity. The paintings will be on display at the Mall Galleries during their Annual Exhibition (28 November until 14 December 2024). You will find them on a wall near the reception desk. How to bid
Bidding is now closed. Each painting will be sold to the highest bidder and the winners will be contacted on Wednesday 11 December.
Payment / collection
If you have placed the highest bid, you will be notified on Wednesday 11 December (please check your inbox on that day) and asked to make the payment (a bank transfer directly to the AGBI charity). Once payment is received, you will be asked to collect your painting on Tuesday 17 December 2024 (10am-5pm) at 17 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5BD. If you are unable to collect it physically at the Mall, we can arrange for a courier at an extra cost. Please ask for more info. Happy bidding!Auction paintings

About the AGBI
Life as a professional artist can be a challenge, and sometimes illness, misfortune or old age makes it impossible to cope financially. That’s where the AGBI can help, the only registered charity dedicated to support visual artists and their dependents in need who live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland and who cannot work or earn due to injury or illness. One of the oldest charities in the UK – founded in 1814 by members of the Royal Academy of Arts including J.M.W. Turner, John Constable and John Soane – it is as essential now as it has ever been.
Do you know any artists that could benefit from the grant?
There are many artists going through illness or difficult times who could benefit from AGBI’s help right now. Maybe it’s you or someone you know. Please pass on the word. The AGBI operates with openness and empathy for every individual circumstance and in total confidentiality.
Donations
And if you are able to, please make a donation – no matter how big or small. It can have a huge impact on someone’s life. Please mention ‘ROI’ while making a donation.
