It is with deep regret and sadness that we learn of the passing of Brian Bennett FROI, MA (Oxon), NS, Hon UA. Brian was President of the ROI from 1988-1995 as well as Governor of the FBA from 1990-1996. Essentially a landscape painter, Brian worked almost exclusively with a painting knife and authored several books including ‘A Painter’s Year – Twelve Months in the Chilterns’ and ‘Oil Painting with a Knife’. The woods and waterways of the Chiltern Hills and the panorama of the Vale of Ayelsbury were favourite subjects with particular emphasis on the wild flowers in the area.

Brian will be greatly missed at the ROI and beyond. We send our sincere condolences to his family.
