We’re really looking forward to this year’s Royal Institute of Oil Painters Annual Exhibition which once again showcases the work of many of the UK’s most exciting young painters alongside the work of more established names. It is an opportunity to gauge the continued evolution of oil painting in this country and to see how it is a fundamental and vital part of the wider art world.
This year’s mini theme is ‘Urban life’, which has been interpreted widely by the exhibiting artists.
Offering valuable prizes such as The Phyllis Roberts Award (worth £2,000) for an artist aged 30 or under, and The Winsor & Newton Young Artist Awards, the ROI continues to lay the foundations for future generations to enjoy and achieve artistic expression with this most adaptable and durable medium.
The exhibition runs from November 28th to December 16th at the Mall Galleries in London. The full exhibition can also now be viewed on the Mall Galleries website and there are several events organised during the exhibition. Further details of these events are also available on the events section of Mall Galleries website.
