Autumn Bonfire, Oil, 38x28in

To celebrate his 90th birthday Brian Bennett ROI has a retrospective solo exhibition of paintings of the Chilterns in August this year. The exhibition will be at The Chadwick Centre, Berkhamstead School and open to the public from Monday 28th August to Saturday 2nd September (10am to 5pm daily).

This is a summation of his love of the area and its wild flowers, which make such a contribution to its beauty.

[ecko_quote source=”Ken Howard RA”]A painter must reveal the world to us and Brian does this admirably, making us see hedgerow or a field for the first time. He reveals to us subjects we might easily pass by. Like Monet he makes the ordinary extraordinary. Kenneth Clarke said that essentially a painting must be life enhancing and Brian’s work does just that, it celebrates life and is a joy[/ecko_quote]
